Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI Developer with 7+ years of experience to lead the development and customization of on-premises Power BI solutions. This role is not a data analyst position—you will be working alongside a dedicated data analyst and focusing exclusively on report building, dashboard development, and integration into enterprise web applications.
Must Haves
- 7+ years of experience in Power BI development (with strong emphasis on on-premises environments).
- Deep understanding of Power BI Report Server, DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
- Experience with customizing Power BI visuals and embedding them into web platforms.
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with enterprise data architectures.
- Proven ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Experience mentoring or managing junior developers is a plus.
Plusses
- Familiarity with DevOps practices for BI deployments.
- Experience in building scalable BI solutions for large user bases.
- Exposure to offshore team management or cross-functional collaboration.
Day to Day
- Design, develop, and maintain on-prem Power BI reports and dashboards using Power BI Report Server.
- Customize and embed Power BI visuals into web applications, modules, and specific UI sections.
- Review and enhance 5+ existing reports, ensuring performance, usability, and visual consistency.
- Ensure seamless integration with backend systems and data sources (SQL Server, etc.).
- Maintain version control and deployment pipelines for Power BI artifacts.
- Potentially lead the build-out of an offshore Power BI development team within 6–9 months, including onboarding, mentoring, and technical oversight.
