Job Description

Position Summary:

The Part-Time Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within the facility. This role includes general cleaning, light maintenance, and ensuring that workspaces and public areas meet cleanliness and safety standards. The custodian plays an important role in creating a welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors and surfaces.

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.

• Empty trash and recycling receptacles and transport waste to proper disposal areas.

• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.

• Restock supplies such as paper products and soap in restrooms and break rooms.

• Perform light maintenance tasks (e.g., replacing light bulbs, minor repairs).

• Monitor and report any safety hazards, damages, or repair needs to the supervisor.

• Assist with setting up and breaking down rooms for meetings, events, or activities.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

• Secure the building after hours (if assigned).

Qualifications:

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required.

• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lbs, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.

• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.

• Reliability, punctuality, and good communication skills.

• Willingness to follow established cleaning and safety procedures.

Work Schedule:

Part-time, approximately 20 to 30 hours per week.

Evening and/or weekend availability may be required depending on facility needs.

Compensation:

Hourly wage based on experience.

Work Environment:

This position involves working indoors, with occasional outdoor duties, and requires use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Safety equipment will be provided as needed.
