Position Overview:

Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Medical Biller and Coder to join the Pinal County Public Health Services District (PCPHSD). The Medical Biller and Coder plays a critical role in maintaining financial integrity and operational efficiency within PCPHSD. You will be responsible for accurate coding, billing, and reimbursement functions that support clinical services and public health initiatives. This position requires strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a deep understanding of healthcare billing regulations. Your work ensures that PCPHSD can continue to deliver accessible healthcare to communities across Pinal County.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma/GED (required)
• Certification: Certification in Medical Billing/Coding (CPC, CBCS, or equivalent)
• Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle management
  • Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and billing software
  • Understanding of HIPAA and healthcare reimbursement processes
• Soft Skills: Analytical thinking, detail orientation, problem-solving

Key Responsibilities

• Review and verify medical charges and ensure proper coding for claims submission.
• Correct denied or rejected claims and resubmit as appropriate.
• Research insurance eligibility and coverage status.
• Communicate with providers, insurance companies, and clients to resolve billing discrepancies.
• Post payments, adjustments, and receipts accurately in EHR systems.
• Generate monthly financial reports, including A/R aging and reconciliation reports.
• Support providers and administrative staff with billing-related inquiries.
