Responsibilities Performs manager job responsibilities - Performs manager job responsibilities with minimal supervision. Consistently directs and advises staff members regarding patient care, work performance, problem-solving, and decision-making. Demonstrates good managerial and clinical judgment in assigning duties appropriate to everyone. Demonstrates good judgment in the routine anticipation of staffing needs and makes the necessary arrangements for departmental coverage. Serves as job expert or organization resource - Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas. Continuously and thoroughly plans, organizes, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates patient care in the institution. Ensures that the care plans for each patient adhere to applicable policies and procedures. Regularly monitors the work of assigned staff to ensure that all treatments, medications, and diagnostic tests ordered by the physician are expeditiously carried out and properly recorded. Supervise support staff or employees - Supervise support staff or employees. Defines goals and/or required results at beginning of the performance period and gains acceptance of ideas by creating a shared vision. Communicates regularly with staff on progress toward defined goals and/or required results; providing specific feedback and initiating corrective action when defined goals and/or results are not met. Confers regularly with staff to review employee relations climate, specific problem areas, and actions necessary for improvement. Evaluates employees at scheduled intervals, obtain and consider all relevant information in evaluations, and support staff by giving praise and constructive criticism.
