Accounting Clerk – Finance & Bookkeeping

Are you an organized and detail-driven professional with a passion for numbers and financial accuracy? Burgoon Company is seeking a full-time Accounting Clerk to join our growing finance and accounting team in Pittsburg, Texas . This mid-level role is ideal for someone looking to grow in the accounting, finance, or bookkeeping field while contributing to a dynamic and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Do:

• Enter daily cash receipts , ACH payments , and check deposits into the accounting software with precision
• Investigate and resolve accounts receivable (AR) discrepancies and customer payment inquiries
• Perform account reconciliations , cleanup, and adjustments for AR and accounts payable (AP)
• Execute collections processes, following up on outstanding invoices and overdue balances
• Reconcile daily cash , bank deposits , and credit card transactions to maintain accurate financial records
• Process vendor invoices and AP payments , ensuring proper documentation and timely disbursement
• Conduct AP aging reports , monitor outstanding vendor payments , and maintain vendor relationships
• Support the finance team with additional clerical accounting tasks , data entry, and financial reporting

Qualifications – What You Bring:

• Must reside in a Federally Designated HUBZone – Check your address here  Hub Zone Map
• 1–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping , or a related administrative support role
• Proficient in accounting systems/software and Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets, formulas, data entry)
• Strong analytical thinking , attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication for both internal and external interactions
• Proven ability to prioritize tasks , manage time, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment
